1972 Vintage Wakmann Automatic Chronograph Day-date, Regatta Sailing-no Reserve

timelysales Store NO RESERVE! I Ship WORLDWIDE International! This is an amazing Automatic (self-winding) Chronograph Wristwatch with many functions and features. Runs Great, All Functions Working Properly – GUARANTEED! Large watch measures 42mm wide (excluding crowns), 47.5mm long and 14.5mm thick. Lug spacing is 20mm. It utilizes the High Grade LEMANIA caliber 1341 (Omega 1041). It is a 3 Register cam lever Chronograph. It counts (registers) seconds, minutes and hours. What makes this caliber interesting, both technically and visually, is that the minute register for the chronograph is not presented in a sub dial, but as a separate minute hand register counter with orange jet hand tip that sweeps around the dial. The sub dials in this caliber are an hour recorder at 6 o’clock, and constant running seconds at 9 ‘o clock. This model is called REGATE (regatta) utilized in sailing yacht racing. The outer chapter features standard Tachymetre (tachometer) measurements plus 15 minute countdown chapters (for yacht racing) divided into 5 minute increments each with its own color (gray, blue, red). The next chapter allows for setting the Day/Date calendar once a month by rotating the inner week bezel (each week having its own color (red, gray, blue, yellow, green, with all Sundays being white) with the crown situated at 10 o’clock position. The next chapter is white with calendar dates 1 through 31. Each month simply align the day of the week using whatever color week you choose to the white calendar date chapter to the proper day of week which allows for telling the day of week at a glance. There is also a Date window aperture at 3 o’clock position allowing for seeing the current Date at a glance. The Date window is Quick-Set by pulling the winding crown out one notch and advancing the Date quickly by turning the crown. The time of day is set normally by pulling winding crown out fully to second notch and setting the correct time. The Chronograph functions operate by pressing the round pusher at 2 o’clock position which starts the orange pointed center sweep chronograph hand. As the center sweep hand moves the orange jet tipped counter hand moves, counting off the minutes. The center sweep hand moves in 1/5 seconds increments as the hour/minute/seconds chapter between hour markers are delineated into 1/5 second increments. The minute counter moves in real time counting off the minutes in 1/5 minute increments as the center sweep chronograph hand moves. It is designed to count fractions of a minute/second for much better accuracy. As the chronograph continues to run the hours are registered, up to 12 hours, by the sub dial register with orange hand at 6 o’clock position. To stop chronograph simply push the 2 o’clock pusher again. You can either resume the chronograph function by pushing the 2 o’clock pusher again. Or, to reset everything to 0 push the round pusher at 4 o’clock position which resets the center sweep hand, minute counter hand and hour register hand to fly back to 0. Everything works properly as designed. The watch runs great and keeps excellent time. Watch is in Excellent Original Condition! Signs of light moderate use.
